The relaunch process for .PW (Palau) will start on December 3. The ccTLD will be repurposed for global consumption and marketed as the "Professional Web". It aims to provide a dedicated online namespace for professional businesses and individuals worldwide. The TLD is unrestricted; no special requirements. The .PW launch will follow the following schedule:
Phase 1: Sunrise - December 3, 2012, 18:00 UTC to February 8, 2013, 18:00 UTC
Trademark holders may apply for domain names that are an exact match or have close similarity with their corresponding trademarks registered prior to or on December 1, 2012. Minimum registration period: 2 years.
FEES 130€ non-refundable application fee (one-time) PLUS 40€ registration fee per year per domain (refundable if registration fails)
If there is a conflict during Sunrise between two trademark owners (multiple, eligible applications for the same domain name), the level of matching will be prioritized. If the competing sunrise applications are at the same priority level, then they will go to auction. Otherwise, the domain is allocated to the trademark at the higher priority level.
Phase 2: Landrush - February 18, 2013, 18:00 UTC to March 18, 2013, 18:00 UTC
The Landrush is open to anyone wishing to ensure that they have the opportunity to register .PW domain names before General Availability. Domain names that receive multiple applications will proceed to an auction. The domain is finally allocated to the winning bidder of the auction. Minimum registration period: 2 years.
FEES 70€ non-refundable application fee (one-time) PLUS 40€ registration fee per year per domain (refundable if registration fails)
Phase 3: General Availability - From March 25, 2013, 10:00 UTC
.PW domains will become available to anyone on a first-come, first-served basis. Minimum registration period: 1 year.
FEES 8,9€/year.
