Registration of new .TEL domains. Sunrise has started. We advance the opening for the new domain .TEL A new TLD concept, more than a domain, a communication Solution. For Pymes or individuals, it will integrate all the Communications Solutions for your business, job or private home: addresses, web SKYPE, email, telephone, fax, call centre, IP voice… You will be able to decide which information is public and which information you want registered users to see. You will be able to find it on Internet with no need of creating a web. Eg www.smallco.tel For businesses, publish all your contacts from your departments and delegations. Eg www.largeco.tel Webmasters, enterprising, businesses and data base development, can use the .tel generic domains to create business telephone lists classified by activities. For example, the owner of www.hotels.tel, will be able to generate all the hotel files he desires inside his domains, classified with a tree structure (by cities, by category,…) and create a hotel database. This will allow you to generate traffic to the owner and generate bookings and contacts to the hotels which advertise their selves on the domain. In the case of individuals, you will be able to store your telephone numbers, your personal web link or social net, games and your organization link. The domain itself includes a tool to create this web, with no need of costs on designs and applications. The value of a .TEL domain lies with the ability to host personal contact information directly in the DNS. This stands in contrast to the typical use of the DNS for other TLDs, in which the DNS only provides a mapping between domain names and IP addresses. The selection method is first-come, first-served. o If an application is rejected, the applicant will have 10 days to file an appeal. LANDRUSH Opening: 3 February 2009 Opening: 23 March 2009 Characteristics: o Any domain that is not registered during Sunrise will be eligible for Landrush registration. o The selection method is first-come, first-served. o Landrush registrations will carry a three-year minimum term. o GENERAL AVAILABILITY Opening: 24 March 2009 Characteristics: o Open to everyone o General Availability registrations will carry a one-year minimum term.
